Catherine McGuigan
Catherine McGuigan established McGuigan Solicitors LLP in 2006. Based in Cavan, Catherine obtained a Law Degree from Trinity College, Dublin in 2002 and was admitted to the roll of solicitors at the Law Society of Ireland in 2005. She trained and worked as a solicitor at one of Ireland’s top 5 law firms for a number of years before establishing the practice. She completed the Law Society of Ireland Insolvency Diploma which complements her experience in property law in respect of the purchase of property from receivers and banks.
Catherine advises clients purchasing and selling their homes, investment properties and commercial properties. She often advises on complicated title issues including difficulties with planning, rights of way and boundary issues. She also frequently assists clients with the banking aspects of their transactions.
Catherine represents both landlords and tenants in drafting and negotiating commercial leases in relation to offices, pubs, industrial units and retail units. She also has a number of years of quasi-judicial experience as an adjudicator with Residential Tenancies Board, hearing Landlord and Tenant disputes.
Catherine also assists clients in preparing their Wills. She also advises Personal Representatives on all stages of the administration of estates from taking out the Grant to the efficient and timely distribution of assets to beneficiaries.
